As an exclusive boutique heli ski outfit, we offer spectacular heli skiing and safety. We personalize your days on the mountain and offer a small group format that consists of two guides per three guests paired with our best-in-class helicopters for the ultimate heli ski experience.
Kingfisher Heli’s mission is to guide guests through terrain of unimaginable beauty filled with deep powder and the possibility of a lifetime of memories.
Our emphasis on small groups—up to a maximum of nine per helicopter, and a guide-to-guest ratio of 2:3—makes Kingfisher quite possibly the safest heli ski experience available in Canada.
Kingfisher Heli is going into its third winter with Custom Helicopters. To access the most pristine parts of British Columbia, our ski machines are two new A-Star B3 E helicopters, while our support machines are three A-Star B2’s. Kingfisher’s ski pilots are among the best in the industry and have thousands of hours of mountain flying and production heli skiing. In addition, Custom Helicopters has on-site aircraft maintenance engineers to ensure each day the helicopters are in top shape for the task at hand: ensuring you have a safe day flying in the mountains.
Our Commitment to Safety
Kingfisher Heli’s commitment to safety on the mountain exceeds industry standards. Whether you are a first-time heli skier or a seasoned pro, our goal is to provide you with the safest mountain experience. All groups ski with a lead and tail guide, setting a new standard in the heli ski industry.
Our highly experienced guides hold certifications with the CSGA (Canadian Ski Guide Association), the ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guide) and the Canadian Avalanche Association. They are also certified in Occupational First Aid or Outdoor Emergency Care.
Thanks to an ongoing partnership with Custom Helicopters, Kingfisher’s helicopters are equipped with the best advanced safety equipment available, experienced pilots and all-mountain monitoring.
We make your safety and peace of mind our first priority.
Your perfect heli ski day is choreographed by Kingfisher’s team of experienced heli ski guides, amazing individuals who have a passion for sharing their love of the mountains with our guests. Our lead guides have at minimum a Level 4 Guide training, while all guides have completed guiding, avalanche and first aid training. Pairing snow safety expertise with a deep understanding of our tenure, Kingfisher Heli’s guides are committed to leading you at your own pace to the perfect run every time so that you have an unforgettable experience on the mountains.
Matt Devlin, Director of Ski Operations and Lead Guide
“As a native of British Columbia, my life passion has been to learn, develop, and safely share as many ski experiences as I can with my guests and friends. I have explored most of Canada’s spectacular mountain ranges, and I chose Kingfisher’s Monashee and Valhalla mountains for their naturally well-spaced tree skiing and ease of access. I’ve been fortunate to ski more than 40 million vertical feet in the last 20 years, which has allowed me to develop a unique cross-section of ski experiences that will thrill and accommodate a range of different abilities—from intermediate skiers to expert shredders. My goal is to guide guests through terrain of unimaginable beauty filled with deep powder, provide a lifetime of memories while at the same time making sure everyone gets down the mountain safely.”
